Ms. Wang Yan graduated from the Ballet Department of the Shanghai Dance School in 2003. She then joined the Shanghai Ballet Company where she had a 10-year career as a leading soloist dancer, performing all over the world. Since 2014, Ms. Yan has been the Founder & Artistic Director of Yan Ballet Academy, a chain of ballet schools in Singapore.

Ms. Yan represents Singapore in The International Federation of Ballet Competitions and has extensive adjudicating experience, having judged competitions like the International & National Ballet Competition for the Mongolian Ballet Foundation, the Asian Elite Dance Competition (Shenzhen & Chengdu, China) and the International United Cloud Dance Competition.
