Rules & Regulations

Registration

All semi-finalists participants must register online by 20 November 2023.

Scoring

Competitors will be judged by an international Jury based on 100-point system.
Competitors will be judged on artistry and technical skill.
Male and female participants in all age divisions will NOT compete separately.

The jury reserves the right to withhold any award or to divide an award between competitors.
Decisions of the jury are final and without appeal.
The jury of IDTCI reserves the right not to present all of the announced awards.

All participants may enter one or multiple entries in each and any category.

Number of entries will be on a first-come, first-served basis and is limited to the amount of performance time available.

Competitors who receives 85 points and up will be invited to take part at the Finals in July 2024 ,Mesagne Italy .
Additionally, at judges’ discretion, some entries who did not receive a total score of 85 or higher may be invited to the Final round (July 2024 ) .

If a competitor performs multiple entries in the same category, the highest score entry will be considered for the final ranking.

If selected for the Finals, participants, (SOLO/PAS DE DEUX /DUETS/ENSEMBLES) Do Not Necessarily have to register for the Finals with the same entry as the one on the basis of which they were selected.

If a Solo participant receives the passing score for several solo pieces in the same category they may perform a ONE OR MULTIPLE ENTRIES IN THE SAME CATEGORY for the Finals.

In Person Specific Rules

Music Submission

After the registration dateline, the administrator will send you an email with the dropbox link for your submission of music.

Music Backup

Competitors should bring with them a backup copy of their music, either on a flash drive in mp3 or wav format.

Age

The age of the competitor will be as of 1 December 2023

Costumes

Competitors should provide their own costumes and make-up.

Insurance

Competitors are responsible for securing their own medical and accidental insurance for the duration of the competition.

By registering, the participants DECLARE to be aware that during the competition there will be made photographic /cinematographic shots of the participants and authorizes the publication of the same on the website of the Competition and on social media of the Competition.

Pre-Competitive solo dancers are not restricted to the classical repertoire list, they may perform age and skill appropriate choreographed numbers, classical ballet repertoire variation and /or Contemporary/Open solo

All fees must be proceed at the moment of the registration after you create your own account directly on the registration page.
All Fees are Non-Refundable for any reason whatsoever!
THE COMPETITION IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR CANCELLATION in case of natural calamities, earthquake, war or pandemics.

Notes:
Classical choreography for the divisions of classical solo Junior II and up must adhere as close as possible to the original and may not be presented in any contemporary rendition. Please, be advised that this requirement will be strictly upheld. Failure to follow it may result in participant(s) being disqualified.

Contemporary choreography (for solos and duets) is understood for the purpose of this competition as pieces in either modern, contemporary or neoclassical vocabulary to be choreographed since 2012.

In the Ensemble Classical division can be presented choreographies of classical ballet and neoclassical vocabulary .
In the Ensemble Contemporary division can be presented pieces in contemporary, jazz or modern vocabulary .
In the Ensemble Character Dance division can be presented choreographies in character dance or folk dance vocabulary.
In the HIP-HOP “Urban Styles” divisions the contestants may present choreographies of breaking, locking, popping, house, hip hop, electro dance, krumping, dance hall, waacking, voguing, street jazz, afro, Commercial.
All pieces presented in Contemporary Dance solo, Duet, all Ensembles categories and all Hip Hop divisions are eligible for Best Choreography Award.

PLEASE NOTE:
IDTCI welcomes participants to register at multiple Semi-Final locations (subject to space availability at each location).
IDTCI do not permit participants to receive winning placement at more than one location. ONLY IF a dancer/duet/groups places higher than in the previous EUROPEAN ONLINE SEMI FINAL (1-3 DECEMBER 2023 ) PARTICIPATION.”

Small and Large Ensembles are excepted from this rules!

VIRTUAL COMPETITION IN SINGAPORE :
IDTCI has NON-REFUND policy. All Fees are Non-Refundable for any reason whatsoever! THE COMPETITION IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR CANCELLATION in case of natural calamities, earthquake, war or pandemics. In the event that IDTCI is unable to hold a Live Competition due to EMERGENCY SITUATION or Theatre Closures, IDTCI will hold ONLY Virtual Competition on the same dates as the location that was cancelled.
